Textiles from Jaipur are known around the
world, for its flamboyance and superiority.
Jaipur is known to be the leading
manufacturer and exporter of various

The Pink City is a hub, for various products

as bandhani, safas, sarees, skirts, dress

renowned by names-Sanganer Prints and Bagru
Print.
Bagru is a small town, at a distance of 35
km. It is famed for Chhipa Mohalla, where a
whole society of the artisans lives. The
unique quality of the print is its
exceptional quality and organic dye. White
cotton fabric is printed, mainly with basic
colors- red, black and blue.
Sanganer Prints are done in Kagazi Mohalla
(colony). This town emerged with this art,
during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Singh II.
The town is situated 16 km from city center,
and houses the international airport. This
facilitates the tourists, a visit to shop
some traditional textiles at reasonable
prices.
Jaipur being the leading manufacturer and
exporter of textile serves as the best
platform to organise various textile fairs,
with local to international standards. The
City has been a spectator of some of the
grand fairs related to the textile industry.
International fairs serve to be a great
platform for dealers and exporters. Fairs
such as FORHEX Fair 2009, Igmatex Fair 2009,
and The Garment Technology Fair prove to be
the finest podium, to exhibit new and
existing textile trends.
Zardozi work, hand embroidery and prints
have made Jaipur textile very fashionable
and chic. Rajasthali Emporium is one place,
which holds a wide collection of various
products of textile. The ethnic and colorful
turbans, beautiful odhnis, sarees and dress
materials are available all over the
markets. Tripolia Bazaar, Jauhari Bazaar,
Bapu Bazaar, Kishanpol Bazaar, and Nehru
Bazaar are few markets, existing in the old
city.
