Pushkar is a spiritual and a divine city,
acknowledged basically for its temples. It
is been said that Lord Brahma chose Pushkar
while he descended on earth. The city holds
the only temple of deity Brahma on earth.
Pushkar encompasses almost five hundred
temples and fifty two ghats. According to
ancient Hindu scriptures, this city was
found in 4th century. Pushkar is known to be
a sacred place on earth. It holds an utmost
importance within Hinduism. The renowned
Pushkar Lake is considered holy, and a dip

Brahma Temple is one that is most admired by
the natives. The other famous temple is
Savitri Temple (Lord Brahma’s wife). This
temple is situated on the hill top and holds
a beautiful view. The ghats around the lake

dips. Ghats are waterfronts which are
located at the edges of the lake.
Pushkar is amongst the five ‘dhams’
(pilgrims) that are must to visit according
to Hindu religion. The city is a major
tourist destination and captures lots of

Pushkar Fair is known to be the largest fair
held here. It embraces an immense
compilation of cattle. This one day is
dedicated totally to camels as the fair
organises camel trades on a big scale. The
animals are neat and clean, beautifully
adorned with various knick-knacks. Not only
trading but you can also see well-bred
camels.
Enthrall your senses by enjoying hot air
balloon rides. The visitors can also explore
the city of Ajmer as it lies close to
Pushkar, and is even recognized as the
sister city of Pushkar. It takes almost four
hours to reach Pushkar from Jaipur, as it is
around 146 km. Winters is the most preferred
climate, as during summers it can be very
uncomfortable.
Pushkar is easily reachable by roadways and
railways. Accommodation here is made viable
by a range of hotels, resorts, and bed and
breakfast, in and around the city. All such
options are available from costlier to
pocket-friendly ones.
