Golf was introduced by the British in the
19th century in their dominion. Very popular
in India, golfing provides an aristocratic
way to sooth your senses. A gentlemen’s game
in the north-western city of desert, Jaipur
provides some well grounds for this game.
Interestingly, India was the first country
to practice golfing after UK. If you are in
Jaipur and want to try your hand at golfing,
then those well laid golf courses such as
Rambagh Golf Course can turn useful. It is a
well protected part of Rambagh Palace Hotel.
They provide all facilities like changing
rooms, club house, caddies, and practice
areas and much more. Interestingly, this
voguish game is played at every nook and
corner of India similar to cricket. In fact,
cricket is also a gift from British to the
world of sports.
The Jaipur Golf Club proudly offers a lush
green course which is properly maintained.
There are nine greens (upper course) and
nine browns. Total numbers of holes are 18
with the fairway passing through the Rambagh
Polo Grounds. The lower 5th course is rugged
and wobbling. Various tour packages involve
golfing in Jaipur in the morning visit for a
round of golf as one would find many caddies
moving around the course these days.
